The Influence of Inquiry Learning Strategies on PGMI Students' Critical Thinking Ability

Abstract

The guided inquiry learning model is a learning model in which students can explore their own potential in formulating, solving, analyzing and concluding the problems faced by them through data obtained through learning under the guidance and supervision of the teacher. This study aims to determine the increase in learning outcomes between students who receive the guided inquiry learning model and students who receive conventional learning at the PGMI Department. The research method used is quasi-experiments conducted in several units taking the PGMI Department. The research instruments included Lecture Program Units (SAP), Student Worksheets (LKM), learning achievement tests, student questionnaires, interviews and observation guidelines. The data were analyzed using the difference in gain that was normalized by attitudes and student learning outcomes in both groups. The test results show that the value of the experimental class. The conclusion from this study is that there is an increase in attitudes and learning outcomes by using the guided inquiry learning model.
